Organisational matters

Location of classes

• In compliance with an official recommendation by the Medical University of Vienna (MUW), this year's edition of these courses will be held online through Cisco Webex as offered by MUW.
• Access credentials for the online course units will be sent out by e-mail to the participant addresses as registered with MUW's Med.Campus (i.e., your e-mail address @meduniwien.ac.at).
• If your (co-)registration with MUW should still be in progress or you should have any other issues with accessing your @meduniwien.ac.at e-mails, do send in a related notification, complying with the access request requirements specified below; please do so at your earliest opportunity: all requests are processed on a best effort basis.

2021-01-25: Moodle-based written exam

• Conforming with the current offical regulations, the written exam for the lecture (VU) will be implemented as a Moodle assignment on the Course Moodle.
• Every participant registered for the lecture received their access credentials at the beginning of the semester:
  It is your duty to verify you can access the Moodle as of now: Do report any issue with due urgency!
• More detail is provided in the Examination section.

2021-01-11: Extended VU class unit on Tue 2021-01-12; Exam date in February

• After the x-mas break, an extended first VU lecture unit will be held, starting at 10:00. I.e., we will use the time slot of the debriefing (since there is no pending assignment) to make up for the multiple class units cancelled because of holidays
• Also, the Academic calendar of the Medical University of Vienna includes an "additional time period for lecturing and exams" ("Zusätzliche Lehrveranstaltungs- und Prüfungszeit") from 2021-02-01 through 2021-02-14: The (viability of) moving the date of the written exam to Februrary will be addressed in class.

• If you should read this and not have received an email (from 'messenger(at(webex.com' and sent to the address specified in your Med.Campus record), then please do get in touch with due urgency.
• In case you should have received an email in German language by mistake, then also please do let me know: in any case, the green button "Meeting beitreten" (= "Join meeting") should take you straight to the meeting --- preferably through the "Webex meeting" app you should have installed and tested (including the audio and video channels) by now.

• Registration for the courses on Med.Campus (Medical University of Vienna, MUW):
  • Note that the lecture (VO) and the exercises (UE) are two different courses:
    if you intend to take both, then you need to register for both of them on Med.Campus.
  • Online registration for a course on Med.Campus requires a MUW student identification/login, obtained through (co-)registering with the MUW:
