Education & Training

Members of the Language Technology Group at OFAI are teaching courses in natural language processing and computational linguistics at the Medical University of Vienna, all courses form also part of the Informatics Curricula at the Vienna University of Technology and the University of Vienna. Currently we are offering the following courses:

• Knowledge Based Natural Language Processing (Lecture)
• Knowledge Based Natural Language Processing (Exercises)
• Corpus Based Natural Language Processing
• Language and Multimedia
• Computers and Natural Language (Laboratory Exercises)

In addition, members of our group are supervising

• student projects and
• masters' and PhD theses

in cooperation with the Institute of Medical Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence (IMKAI) of the Brain Research Center at the Medical University of Vienna.

The Natural Language Processing Group at OFAI actively pursues cooperations with and exchange of researchers from other NL groups. Researchers interested to work as a guest researcher in our group are invited to contact us. In the last years, we have participated in the researcher exchange program Scientific Cooperation in the European Network in Language and Speech, which was sponsored by the EU's HCM (Human Capital and Mobility) Programme (the Austrian contribution was sponsored by the FWF).
