Many desired advancements in agents (to become intelligent, emotional, even social) test the extent of all of our knowledge andcapabilities in regards to the social sciences and computer science. At first glance, it would appear that "Multi-cultural" agents wouldjust be an extra flexible and knowledgeable agent and hence emphasizeall the difficult but familiar issues of advancing such an agent(e.g., negotiation, language, socialization, and so forth). But inthis paper, I propose that we now have to consider some otherfundamental issues, dealing with the limits of distributedintelligence and control, of knowledge and shareable contexts incomplex dynamical systems.
