MEi:CogSci student joins DANCR project

Patrick Burns, a first-year Master's student at the University of Vienna's MEI:CogSci program, has joined the DANCR project under the supervision of Mag. Dr. Brigitte Krenn.

DANCR is an AI-based tool designed for the artistic community, particularly in contemporary dance, where improvisation plays a crucial role. Its purpose is to support individual artists in their dance research by expanding and refining their repertoire of improvisations. Patrick's internship contributes to the evaluation of the system in which he is part of a multidisciplinary team of professional dancers, philosophers, and computer scientists. The goal is to create an evaluation framework that can accurately assess the artistic potential of the DANCR system as an improvisation tool and gain insight into human-robot interaction in the creative domain.
