chatlyn
chatlyn is an Austrian hospitality startup offering an AI-powered guest communication platform for accommodation providers. Together with chatlyn, OFAI is researching and developing AI-based methods for analysing, transforming, and querying structured and unstructured data using large language models (LLMs). The project involves developing and evaluating a pipeline for data conversion, database integration, and natural-language question answering. Particular emphasis is placed on challenging data scenarios, time-dependent information, inconsistencies, ambiguities, and the integration of tabular and textual data. In the project, a key focus is the systematic and increasingly automated evaluation of the methods developed. Evaluation procedures, datasets, and supporting tools are developed to measure the quality, robustness, and practical suitability of different LLMs and data-processing strategies. In parallel, state-of-the-art privacy and security measures will be assessed and incorporated. They include detecting sensitive personal and business information, as well as identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities and malicious attacks targeting LLM-based systems. Depending on the requirements of each sub-task, different foundation models and complementary symbolic natural-language-processing methods are evaluated and applied.
